This guide explains how to install and set up Splunk Enterprise.

To update the version of Splunk Enterprise, simply change the splunk_version and its matching splunk_build variable.

You can also set up LDAP authentication using Microsoft Active Directory with some extra variables.

Requirements

You need to install pyOpenSSL to create a self-signed x509 certificate.

Don't forget to change the values for splunk_common_admin_passwd, splunk_common_admin_salt, and splunk_secret, and consider encrypting them with ansible-vault.

Example Playbook

Here's a sample playbook:

You can also use the included Vagrantfile to create a local test server.
