git_role

This role helps you install Git on Unix/Linux computers using Ansible.

Setup

To install, run ansible-galaxy install charlesrocket.git or add it to your requirements.yml file like this:

roles:
  - name: charlesrocket.git

Example

Here's an example of how to use it in a playbook:

- name: Playbook
  hosts: all

  roles:
    - charlesrocket.git

Credential helper

To set up the credential helper, define these variables:

git_repo_destination: "~/gitlab/git" # where to put the git repository
git_helper_directory: "~/bin" # where to find the helper
git_helper: ["netrc"] # type of credential helper

• If you want to do a shallow clone, add git_repo_shallow: true.
• If you want to ignore local changes and overwrite them, add git_repo_force: true.
