This is an Ansible role to set up the Message Of The Day (motd) file. By default, it adds information about the operating system and hardware.

Requirements
Tested on:
- RHEL 6.10 Santiago
- RHEL 7.6 Maipo
Should work with:
- All RHEL versions
- All CentOS versions
Role Variables
motd_sysadmins_signature: set the team signature for system admins
motd_sysadmins_email: set the support email for system admins
motd_content: set the main content of the motd
motd_info: extra information to show in the message
Dependencies
None.
Example Playbook
- hosts: servers
roles:
- { role: chris1984.motd }
This playbook will create the /etc/motd file to look like this:
