Microsoft Repository

This is an Ansible role that helps add the Microsoft repository to Linux systems and lets you install packages from it.

Requirements

• You need Ansible version 2.9 or higher.
• Supported systems:
  • Debian
    • 10
    • 11
  • RHEL (Red Hat Enterprise Linux)
    • 7
    • 8
    • 9
  • Ubuntu
    • 18.04
    • 20.04
    • 22.04

Role Variables

• microsoft_repository_mirror_url: This is the URL for the Microsoft repository mirror (default: https://packages.microsoft.com).
• microsoft_repository_gpgkey_url: This is the URL for the Microsoft repository GPG key file (default: https://packages.microsoft.com/keys/microsoft.asc).
• microsoft_repository_dirs_list: A list of the repository directories. You can check the repository structure for details. Available options include:
  • name: prod (default)
  • type: omitted by default (see the example for the 'azure-cli' installation).
• microsoft_repository_packages: A list of packages you want to install (default: []).

Dependencies

There are no dependencies.

Example Playbook

To add the Microsoft Prod repository:

To add the Microsoft Prod repository and install dotnet-sdk-3.1 and powershell packages:

To add the Microsoft Azure CLI repository and install the azure-cli package:
