Ansible Role: Tomcat 8
This is an Ansible role for installing Tomcat 8 on:
- Centos/RHEL 7.x
- Ubuntu Xenial
Requirements
You need Ansible version 2.4 or higher.
For RedHat-based systems, you must have the EPEL repository enabled (you can use the role geerlingguy.repo-epel
to add it) or have a valid RedHat subscription.
Role Variables
Here are the available settings, with their default values:
Packages to install for Tomcat
tomcat_packages:
- tomcat
Packages for Tomcat admin
tomcat_admin_packages:
- tomcat-admin
Directory where Tomcat will be installed
tomcat_home: /var/lib/tomcat
Should the Tomcat admin interface be installed?
tomcat_admin_install: yes
Tomcat roles

Tomcat users

User and group that will run Tomcat
tomcat_server_user: tomcat
tomcat_server_group: tomcat
Some variables are specific to the operating system and can be changed
tomcat_home: /opt/tomcat
Specifically for CentOS/RH:
