Ansible Role: Docker

An Ansible role to install Docker and Docker Compose on Linux distributions.

Requirements

Python & Pip.

Role Variables

You can specify the users to add to the docker group. By default, it adds the current user to the docker group.

docker_users:
  - "{{ ansible_env.SUDO_USER is defined | ternary(ansible_env.SUDO_USER, ansible_user) }}"

Dependencies

None.

Example Playbook

Including an example of how to use your role (for instance, with variables passed in as parameters) is always nice for users too:

- hosts: servers
  roles:
      - role: xbufu.docker
        vars:
          docker_users:
            - bufu
            - user
